BLUG Talks
When I was in China I gave a two talks at the Beijing Linux User Group.
The first talk was about Rube on Rails just after version 1.0 came out. Since I gave that talk in 2006 there have been a lot of advances in the Ruby ecosystem and the talk is completely out of date but I figured I would upload the files anyway to show some of the problems that early Rails users faced.
The last talk I gave at the Beijing Linux User Group was able the state of Linux gaming.
I had lots of fun at the BLUG and I meet lots of cool people there. If you are ever in China I’d recommend catch up with them.
Didn’t Wiley find you at that Rails talk? Imagine if you hadn’t given it. No Wiley. No LanguageCalls. No Lloyd, HQ, Nevinator, Scott Lee, Paul Coffey, etc. You have WAY more great stories to tell than you once did, and you have BLUG to thank for that.
No, I meet Wiley a couple of months after the Rails talk. I meet him at the “Open Tuesday” conference where DJ gave a talk about XOOPs. That being said if I didn’t go to the BLUG I wouldn’t have found out about Open Tuesday.
